The two main elements that effect costs are

  • Building Land.

  • Onsite labour costs.

Most large developers will buy up large tracks of building land, so they have total control over prices and will increase accordingly as demand dictates.

Traditional construction methods are labour and time intensive, therefore costly procedures.  Speeding up the procedure, requires more labour, so no gain.

Furthermore, large developers have big overheads in staffing, establishment costs, marketing and agency fees etc.
